I have become enchanted by the power of the media since early on. Before my fascination for the media world developed, like everyone else, I too was subconsciously a part of it: television news, the magazines I read, and the commercials that urged me to buy the products I bought. I was always more curious about media marketing, and how businesses approach people and convince them to buy the things they might not have even considered buying. The client convincing part was the one that had me going.
Becoming a media student was like learning the tricks of the trade, being let in on all these secrets and I loved knowing why the media did what it did, and how they accomplished targets. During my undergraduate degree from FIMT, I studied a panorama of courses, covering different facets in journalism and mass communication, including Public Relations, Advertising, and Digital Marketing. During this time, I learnt about the various aspects of media, and managed to acquire knowledge in Media Marketing as well as Client Servicing. The teaching method and faculty of the course was very supportive, from solving my doubts in class to helping me find internships, they have helped me in all ways.
My experience in FIMT has allowed me to look outside the box and pursue opportunities that I would generally keep at bay, considering it being outside my comfort zone. Breaking the barrier of self-doubt around scholastic achievements is difficult. Still, without the opportunity and the encouragement from FIMT, I would not have been able to see the world through a different lens and meet people who would be the ones to champion my achievements and have become my closet friends
